Arley Jack McGuire Sr. 83, a resident of Burley, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2026, peacefully in his home.

Arley was born on September 23, 1942, in Alva, Oklahoma, to Robert and Mary Harding McGuire. He attended school until the sixth grade, moving to Idaho around 1958. He worked with his uncle Lloyd doing farmwork, until going to Vietnam in 1966. He fought in the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1969.

Later, on March 28, 1972, he married Donna Jean Hodge in Acequia, Idaho. They went on to welcome their first son, Arley Jack "AJ" McGuire the 2nd, on October 28, 1975. A couple years later, they added a second son, Bobby Ross McGuire, on August 30, 1978. He spent 28 amazing years married to his sweetheart, Donna Jean, until she lost her battle to cancer on July 2, 1999.

After some time passed, he reunited with a past love, Connie Roberts, and married her on December 14, 2000. With this marriage, he gained two more children, Michelle and Bret. He was a man with a hard work ethic, working at Ore-Ida, which changed to McCain's, working there for 45 years. After retirement, he continued to drive harvest trucks for many years thereafter. He spent most of his days with his family, who he loved and cherished dearly. He will be so very missed by all of those who took the time to know and love him.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Roberts McGuire of Burley; his children, Arley Jack "AJ" the 2nd (Melanie) McGuire of Hazelton, Bobby McGuire of Hazelton, Michelle (Ron) Emerson of Burley, Bret (Twana) Irwin of Burley; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; three siblings, Mary McGuire Egbert of Heyburn, Charles (Wynonna) McGuire of Alva, Oklahoma, Gail McGuire Wilks of Alva, Oklahoma; many nieces and nephews; and his long time four-legged companion, Sassy, whom he has an inseparable bond with.

In addition to losing his wife Donna, he was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Zelma McGuire Ross; a brother, Perry McGuire; his sister and brother in-laws; and many others he cherished.

Graveside services with urn placement will be held at a later date at Pleasant View Cemetery in Burley with Military Honors.
