Neil Arlin Shurtz, 86 year old Rupert resident, died Thursday, March 29, 2018 at his daughter's home in Rupert. Neil was born on August 20, 1931 in Hagerman, Idaho. In 1940 he moved with his family to Ketchum, Idaho. Neil married Martha Jacobs on September 30, 1953 in Elko, Nevada. She preceded him in death on June 26, 2015. He retired from Sawtooth Auto Sales in Hailey. He is survived by his children, Rick Shurtz of Boise and Elieen (Shane) Hyde of Rupert; also survived by two sisters and one brother. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. In keeping with Neil's wishes, no formal services will be held. He and Martha will both be buried together in the Ketchum Idaho Cemetery.
