LouAnn (Briggs) Marston, 68, of Paul, Idaho passed away Wednesday April 1, 2026 at Twin Falls Transitional Care of Cascadia, after a long hard-fought battle with cancer. She was born June 7, 1957 at The Cottage Hospital in Burley to Ray Edward and Aleen (Hepworth) Briggs. She was the youngest of four half sibling and her brother until her little sister was born when she was 11 years old. She grew up on with her dad farming for Ray Freymiller and Grant Beck. She went to school in Burley until she dropped out to join the workforce. While working at Ore-Ida, she met her future husband, Kim Marston. She however, when they first met did not want anything to do with him. He persisted and wore her down until she finally gave him her number. Those calls finally lead to a date but before he could take her out he sold his Harley Davidson to buy a pickup because he believed she would not ever ride his motorcycle. This led to courting for little over a year before they decided to get married. Her mom and dad drove down with them to Elko, Nevada on June 9, 1978 to watch them wed. With this marriage, LouAnn gained a daughter Opal Kathleen. After their marriage Kim and LouAnn created a home in Burley. For 3-years Kim, LouAnn, and Opal Kathleen created memories. LouAnn became a stay-at-home mom. Their small family of three increased to four with the birth of their daughter Chastity Ann on November 7, 1981. During this time, LouAnn competed her goal of obtaining her GED. On December 7, 1984, their youngest son, Christopher, made his appearance into the world, completing their family. Along with their children, LouAnn and Kim also opened their home to children in the foster care system. They loved every single child that walked into their doors. After several years of being a stay-at-home mom and babysitting for friends and family, LouAnn rejoined the workforce. She began her final career at Cassia Regional Hospital in their housekeeping department. While working at the hospital, she met her best friend Carly. Together, the family loved spending time outdoors. They would go camping to Lake Cleveland every chance they got. In 1990, LouAnn and Kim were blessed with their first granddaughter, Tranika. In 1992, they welcomed their second granddaughter, Hayleigh. In 1994, they welcomed their first grandson, Jarron. They became members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1993. Together the family continued to make memories and enjoy life. In 2001, Chastity married Jared Gallup. In 2002, they welcomed their third granddaughter, Sarah. In 2004, they welcomed their second grandson Jaden. In 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 they welcomed 4 more grandchildren, Kade, Coltrin, Luke, and Anna. In 2012, they gained two more grandchildren Levi and Adele. On March 6, 2015, tragedy hit the family with the loss of their beloved daughter Chastity. After her passing Sarah came to live with LouAnn and Kim. Their last grandchild, Remington, joined the family in 2019. Christopher married Chandi in 2020. Her first great-granddaughter Avery was born in 2024. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy. She would spend every chance she could with her grandchildren. She loved watching them at the baseball or football field, performing in concerts or dance recitals. If she wasn’t with her grandchildren, she was spoiling her pets.
LouAnn is proceeded in death by her parents, her daughter Chastity, her half-brothers, Kenneth, George, and Fred, and her half-sister Sylvia, and her mother-in-law Lucille Mitton.
She is survived by her husband, Kim Marston, daughter Opal Kathleen (Leroy) LaFaunce, son Christopher (Chandi) Marston, brother Larry (Judy) Briggs, sister Laurie (Ted) Timmons, grandchildren Tranika, Hayleigh (Michael), Jarron (Nicole), Sarah (Brandon), Jaden, Kade, Coltrin, Luke, Anna, Levi, Adele, Remington, great-granddaughter Avery, multiple nieces and nephews, and cousins friends and family.
The family wants to express their greatest appreciation to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center for the treatment they provided while fighting her cancer and Twin Falls Transitional Care of Cascadia for the love and support they provided to LouAnn in her final days. Both of these facilities gave us a piece of mind when we as a family could not physically be there that she was taken care of and loved.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 9, 2026 at the Paul Stake Center, 424 West Ellis Street in Paul. Burial will follow in the Paul Cemetery.
