In loving memory of our father, Steven Dewayne Damron, who passed away unexpectedly on January 17, 2023, at the age of 69.

Steve was born on October 10, 1953, to Dollie Roberta (Loudenbarger) and Walter Leon Damron in Iola, Kansas. After graduating from Madison High School in 1973, he joined the Army, where he served for 4 years.  In 1982, he met Nancy Baker, and they wed in 1983, going on to have 5 children, Samantha, Megan, Michael, Kayla and Rebecca.

One of the kindest souls on this planet, our father was a gentle, giving man who worked tirelessly to ensure that his family had everything they needed. He faced every challenge in life with admirable strength and courage. Early in life, our father learned the importance of hard work and he instilled that same work ethic in us. He was always there for us, whatever our needs might be. He taught us the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right. Our father was a true role model who we will always look up to.  He was unendingly proud of all of his children and grandchildren, and always tried his best to support them. Anyone who knew Steve knew that he was the most loving father and grandfather a family could ask for.

Steve is survived by his children; Samantha (James) Jolley, Michael Damron, Kayla Damron, and Rebecca Damron; grandchildren Jonathan, Alayna, Brendan, Connor, and Nora Jolley; and his siblings Patty Gerhring, Walter Damron, Emma Damron, Tammy King, Robert Damron, and Kimberly Hannon.  He was preceded in death by his daughter Megan Leigh Damron; his parents Dollie and Walter; and his siblings Shirden, Bill, Mike, Dollie K., Robert, and Patrick Damron.

The funeral service will be held at 1 pm on January 28, 2023, at Morrison Funeral Home, 188 S. Hwy 24 Rupert ID 83350.  Funeral expense donations are greatly appreciated.  Monetary donations can be made through Steve’s oldest daughter, Samantha Jolley.

Dad, you are now at peace, but you will live on forever in our hearts. We love you so much. Rest in peace.
