Charlotte “LaVon” Coltrin

LaVon Coltrin passed away November 29, 2021.

LaVon was born October 20, 1934, to Algot and Charlotte “Lottie” Peterson at home in Burley, Idaho.

She attended Southwest Grade School, Burley Junior High, and Burley High School where she graduated.

She married Edward Coltrin December 4, 1956, in the Idaho Falls Temple.

LaVon and Edward were blessed with 5 children: Algot of Burley, David, of Burley, Peggy, of Milton, WA, Dale, of Puyallup, WA, and Steven, of Burley. LaVon had 2 bonus children Casey and Tara of Meridian.

LaVon and Edward’s earlier years of married life started out in Kansas while Edward served in the Army, then to Boise. After several years in Boise, they moved to Oregon then onto to an adventure in Alaska during the Pipeline build. After Alaska they moved to the Seattle area for several years. During their time in the Seattle area, they worked with many refuge families to acclimate them to life in America. After Edward retired, they returned to Burley to be closer to family and help with LaVon’s parents.

LaVon was a dedicated member of her church, her special interest was the Primary children she taught throughout many years of service. As her Primary children grew up, graduated, served missions, got married or other important events in their lives, she always tried to attend activities that were held for them. She loved to share her crafting talents with friends and family, especially the grandkids.

Condolences Charlotte LaVon Coltrin

We are privileged to have known some of the Peterson siblings as we have associated with them in the community. We came to know LaVon as we made deliveries to her home, enjoyed our visits, and found out who her parents are. Having known the Peterson parents we can see the great characteristics of them in the lives of their family. We send our condolences of peace and comfort to all of the family.
