Maria Del Carmen Fuentes-Loya was born in Burley, Idaho on April 10th, 1964. She passed away early Monday morning, November 1st (All Saints Day) in her Heyburn home. She will be fondly thought of as a deeply religious woman who never missed an opportunity to learn and grow her faith. She was also multi-talented; whether it be embroidery, journaling, or coordinating family gift exchanges and get-togethers you could count on her. She was taught from an early age by her father and mother (Pablo and Rosario Fuentes) the importance of family, loyalty, and devotion to God. It’s a legacy she demonstrated in her everyday life to her brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephew, and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 38 yrs. Jose Loya Jr., her daughter Maria Veronica Loya-Torres, her son Jose F. Loya III (Joey). She will be especially missed by her two granddaughters (Allia Merie and Anna Erika Torres) and her grandson Erik Torres jr. She will be missed but she is now joining her youngest daughter (Anna Rosa Loya) in heaven.

The family would like to invite attendees to join them in saying the rosary at 11 AM before the funeral services at 11:30 AM at Little Flower Catholic Church in Burley, Idaho on Tuesday, November 9th. The burial will be at Gem Memorial Cemetery. Then a lunch for attendees back at Little Flower Catholic Church Dining Hall. Funeral services coordinated by Morrison Funeral Home & Crematory in Rupert, Idaho.

Carmen, my dear friend, thank you for the laughter and common sensical approach to our elementary, Jr and high school adventures. You were always so full of love and laughter that it seems impossible that you are gone. May you rest in peace and love.

My Tia carmen was a PHENOMENAL woman. This world Definitely feels a little less colorful knowing thAt she isnt here ANYMORE. My heArt goes out to her immediate family. I Pray that God comforts you Whenever you’re missing her. Growing up my Tia CARMEN was my best friend. I loved SPENDING SUMMERS with my Abuelos and going over to my Tia’s house. She introduced me to so many beautiful Mexican traditions, food, music, and taught me to be proud of my heritage. She truly felt like another mom to me. As i got older i saw her less and less but when we Would see each other, I was Reminded each time of how much i loved her and how much I Admired her. The last thing she Said to me was “Mija, I'm so proud of you”. It’s comforting to know that she’s in a good place surrounded With so much love. However, A day won’t go by that I wont miss my Tia terribly.
