“Junky Jim” the owner of JP Salvage of Paul, Idaho passed away suddenly from a heart attack in his home Saturday, October 29, 2016. Jim was born May 8, 1951 in Logan, Utah, the third of five children born to Paul and Venice Pedersen of Paul, Idaho. Jim was preceded in death by both his parents.
He is survived by his girlfriend Heather Hurless and his two children Mechele Pedersen (Boise, Idaho) and Justin Pedersen (Meridian, Idaho).
Jim is survived by his siblings Pauline Mendenhall (Logan, Utah), Dan (Delores) Pedersen (American Fork, Utah), Jeff (Coni) Pedersen (Burley, Idaho), Melvin (Shelley) Pedersen (Burley, Idaho), his step children Brookie Stamper, Spring Maxfield and Mickey Maxfield and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Many knew him as “Junky Jim” because of his salvage yard, he was a collector of numerous vehicles and parts. He was friendly to all and loved to negotiate and barter. He was a patriot and very passionate about his convictions. He was always asking if he could help and serve in any way he could. He was always sticking up for the down trodden and those he thought were not being treated fairly. Jim’s beard, smile and laugh will be greatly missed but always remembered.
Jim’s life will be celebrated at 1 pm Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the Morrison Funeral Home 188 South Highway 24 in Rupert with urn placement to follow at the Paul Cemetery.

Jim and I were youthful friends from the Paul, Idaho, area in the 60's. I'm sorry to hear of his passing. His parents, Paul and Venice Pedersen, were also good people from the Paul community.
I will remember him as a kind and friendly person.
