Marilynn Gee Orban, 77 year old Burley resident and former Oakley resident, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Cassia Regional Medical Center in Burley.
She was born on May 29, 1939 in Oakley, Idaho the daughter of Ormus Earl and Winona Tolman Gee. Marilynn graduated from Oakley High School in 1958 and it was in Oakley that she met her husband, Miklos "Mike" Orban. They were married Nov. 16, 1958 in Yerington, NV. Their marriage was solemnized in November of 1981 at the Logan Temple. Marilynn was a very meticulous house keeper. The children used to dread "spring cleaning." Marilynn loved to host parties of any kind. She was known for her joke telling and being a master prankster. She enjoyed oil and tole painting and crocheting rugs. Marilynn was a faithful member of the LDS church where she served in the primary for many years both on the ward and stake level. She loved her family very much and will be greatly missed. Marilynn is survived by her children, Sheila Martin of Heyburn, Winona (Marvin) Gurney of Shoshone, Michael (Cathy) Orban of Filer, Sonja (Scott) Fisher of Las Vegas, NV, and Joseph Orban of Burley; 17 grandchildren, 8 great -grandchildren, and a sister, Sarah Jane Barton of Utah. She was preceded in death by her husband Mike, her parents, three brothers and a great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2016 at the Burley Stake Center, 2050 Normal Avenue with Bishop Luke Trevino, officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakley Cemetery. Friends may call Friday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 at Morrison Funeral Home, 188 South Hwy 24 in Rupert and from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church prior to the Funeral. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Cassia Regional Medical Center for the love and care extended to Marilynn. Services are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home in Rupert.
